Counseling Overview

Pueblo County High School Counseling program supports the development of the whole child by advocating for academic, social/emotional, career and post-secondary needs. As a team, we work with students to identify their barriers to success and develop individual plans for getting them back on track. In addition to individual support, we collaborate with family members, educators and community members to empower all Thunderbolts to be the best version of themselves.

We look forward to supporting our Hornets in all aspects of their high school career and preparing them for life!

Pueblo County High School has a “small school environment” with “big school opportunities”. We provide students with opportunities to engage in meaningful learning, and to be part of a safe and secure environment with the support and trust of the school community. Our purpose is to provide all students opportunities in becoming healthy, well-prepared citizens who demonstrate ethical behavior. We promote respect for self and others; encourage the acceptance of diversity, and stress high standards of achievement that will foster life-long learning.

In District 70, we prioritize the development of social-emotional skills, academic achievement, and equipping students with the tools they need to attain post-secondary success, build meaningful relationships, and contribute positively to their communities.

District 70 counselors provide comprehensive, equitable, and student-centered counseling services that foster the holistic development of every child. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel empowered to explore their academic, social, emotional, and career potential. Through collaborative partnerships, we deliver evidence-based practices and interventions that promote resilience, well-being, and academic success. Students receive personalized guidance and support to navigate challenges, set meaningful goals, and realize their full potential.
